A Little Off Track...

Anonymous Cherry Bean #134 · General Confessions

So, hey everyone! I'm in my twenties, and yeah, I identify as trans. Today's confession isn't about anything super kinky or naughty, it’s just something small but it got me thinking... Like how we all have those little rules and lines we set for ourselves that we don’t always stick to. I’m a bit of a daddy’s little boy in my headspace, even though I'm an adult now. He's a strict old school kind of dad, he taught me from early on about being responsible and taking care of myself. And you know how it is with the kiddo-in-me? Always wanting to push back against those rules just a teeny bit... Anyway, this week, we made a deal that I'd start cleaning my room as soon as I got home from work every day. He explained all the reasons why, clean space means you can think clearly and stay focused on your goals... And yeah, I nodded and agreed because what else are you gonna do when your dad is staring at you with those “you-better-listen” eyes? Right? Well, Tuesday rolls around and I get home from my shift and am totally exhausted. The couch looks so comfy and it's only like 5 PM... It’s not really late or anything, just tired as hell after another long day. So I sat down to rest for a bit. But then, before I knew it, an hour goes by and I still haven’t cleaned my room... Later that evening when I was actually in there trying to clean up, Dad asked how it went. And I couldn't really lie about it because... well, it’s not like cleaning your room is something you can get away with fibbing about! So I told him the truth, admitted I didn’t follow through and let myself slack off. Dad was disappointed but also understanding. We talked about why I felt so tired and how maybe he could help make my space more inviting for when I got home, to reduce those moments of wanting to skip out on duties... It’s funny how something as simple as cleaning a room can lead to such a meaningful conversation. Anyway, here's to being true to yourself, even if that means admitting you're not perfect and having some off days. And now maybe my room will be less of a mess because of it! ...I guess the moral is: no matter how many rules we set for ourselves or how hard we try to follow them all, there are always going to be times when we slip up. But what’s important is talking about those mistakes and figuring out ways to get back on track. And sometimes that means asking your dad (or yourself) for help! ...
