Why Am I Into This?

Anonymous Secret Pixie #189 · General Confessions

So I just got out of a long-term relationship with my girlfriend. We were together for years and we had this dynamic where she was the little one in everything. She'd be so cute and submissive, always wanting to please me, and it was pretty hot. But now that we've split up, I'm realizing how much I loved being her Daddy. I mean, before us I had never really been into this stuff. Sure, I enjoyed seeing people play out their power dynamics on social media, but it wasn't something I thought about for myself or ever would have pursued. It just came naturally with her and we were both super happy with it. But now she's gone, and I find myself craving that role again. Last night, I found myself talking to a stranger online in Daddy mode, setting boundaries, offering discipline, and even though nothing happened, there was something exhilarating about the conversation. It felt like an old switch turned back on inside me. I don't know if this is normal or just some weird after-effect of my relationship ending so suddenly and unexpectedly. Am I supposed to still feel these urges for someone else? Should I try finding a new little again right away, or wait until I've processed everything from the breakup? Maybe it's just how our brains work, where we associate pleasure with behaviors and feelings that are no longer available when they go away. But there's something deeper here too about control and nurturing. I loved taking care of her like a daughter and setting guidelines for her behavior. So what do you all think? Is this normal after the end of a D/s relationship to feel a void and want to replace it quickly with someone else, or is it unhealthy? Do most people who engage in DDLG just flip off the switch when things are over? Am I weird for wanting to relive that role so soon?
