A Night Shift Mommy's Dilemma

Anonymous Starry Star #682 · General Confessions

I work nights at a local warehouse, and to keep my energy up throughout the night shifts, I've found myself playing a unique roleplay with myself. You see, during these long hours alone in the dark, I slip into this character of a strict yet loving Mommy figure who disciplines me when I'm being lazy or unfocused. It's like having an imaginary support system watching over me, pushing me to do my best and stay on task. The roleplay is so vivid that sometimes it feels real, there are physical aspects too, using items from around the warehouse to implement 'discipline' in a safe, consensual way, which keeps my mind sharp and focused on work. I'm a married woman in my early thirties with two kids at home, but none of them know about this part of me. It's a secret tucked away until nightfall when my alter ego comes out to play. The question is, am I the asshole here? Is it okay for me to indulge in this fantasy world during such long and lonely hours, or is there something inherently wrong with using discipline as motivation? Sometimes I worry about how this might affect my interactions at home, am I becoming too domineering, even if only in my head? Should I be seeking other forms of self-discipline or relaxation to replace this unique habit? Your thoughts?
