Another Boring Week at Work
Anonymous Candy Bean #653 · General Confessions
Had another one of those weeks where I just wanted to crawl back into bed and hide from the world. But instead, here we are, same old routine. My boyfriend, who’s in his late thirties, suggested a little role-play after work tonight, something to spice things up a bit since I’ve been feeling so drab lately. He said he’d be my caregiver for an evening, helping me get ready and make dinner while I played the part of a more... dependent version of myself. It felt like such a stark contrast to the day’s dullness; suddenly, there was this tiny flicker of excitement in the back of my mind. We ended up ordering takeout since my kitchen skills are pretty dismal when I’m feeling down. He set up our living room with soft blankets and candles, it looked almost like something out of a romance novel. And then we started. The way he talked to me, the way he took charge... It was all so different from how I typically approach things, but it really did help shake off some of that work-week funk. So here’s my question: Have any of you ever tried something similar? Did it change your perspective on a boring day like mine?
