Late Night Revelations

Anonymous Cuddly Fawn #130 · General Confessions

I work the night shift at this dreary warehouse, sorting packages until my eyes are bloodshot. It’s a tedious job, but it pays the bills and keeps me away from home during hours when I’d be tempted to stay up anyway. But tonight, while counting boxes under fluorescent lights that never sleep, something snapped inside of me. For months now, I’ve been playing at being a little, not just for fun, but as a way to cope with the stress and isolation of my life. Tonight, in the quiet, sterile halls, it all felt too real. The mask slipped, and there was no one around to see through it. There’s something almost cathartic about letting go like that, about pretending to be someone who doesn’t need to hide behind masks or roles. I know it sounds messy, but when you’re surrounded by cardboard boxes and late-night shadows, it’s hard not to feel small, in more ways than one.
