Confessions of a Divorced Kinkster

Anonymous Candy Star #334 · General Confessions

I recently got divorced after a long and unhappy marriage. As I've been rediscovering my own desires post-divorce, I’ve found myself exploring the world of kink for the first time in my life. It’s not something I ever imagined doing when I was younger, I always thought it would be too taboo or embarrassing. But now that I'm in my mid-thirties and feeling more confident about who I am, I've embraced these new feelings and experiences with open arms. One night, I ended up at a local kink event without any particular scene in mind; I was just there to explore and maybe meet some like-minded people. To my surprise, I found myself drawn to the idea of being submissive in a playful way that had nothing to do with DDLG or little space but felt liberating and empowering nonetheless. It's not something I want to give up now. My question is: does this happen often? Am I just another person who finds new freedom and confidence after splitting from an unhappy marriage, or am I out of the norm here? Sometimes, when I'm feeling particularly bold in my fantasies and desires, it seems like everyone else around me must be having similar experiences but not talking about them. This journey has been surprisingly cathartic for me, even if it's just a way to feel alive and connected again after so many years of being trapped in something that no longer served me.
