A Small Lie Caught Out
Anonymous Velvet Sprite #566 · General Confessions
Well, I suppose it's time to admit something that's been gnawing at me for a while. It wasn't anything major, but the way it played out in my head felt like such a huge deal. You see, as a Mommy, there are certain expectations and rules set up, even if they're just between us two. My guy... he likes those kinds of boundaries and guidelines, you know? But sometimes, I slip. It's not that I want to break them necessarily; it’s more about the occasional human weakness taking over. So, here we are in the kitchen, and my man has asked me to make sure I check the expiration dates on some items, specifically a jar of preserves that he knows I’ve always loved but rarely ever use. He trusts me with this task because, well, it's part of my role as his Mommy... or so he likes to think. And here’s where things got messy in my head: while checking the pantry for other items, I opened that jar, just a little taste, and before you know it, half was gone. It wasn’t even an hour later when he walked into the kitchen and called me out on it right away. There were no lies or games; I simply admitted what I did and how I felt about breaking his trust. It might seem silly to be so torn up over something as simple as a jar of jam, but it’s not really about the jam itself. It's more about understanding my role, being mindful of the rules we set for ourselves, and adhering to them when they mean something. This little slip-up taught me that even in DDLG dynamics, there can be real emotional weight attached to simple actions like these.
