When I Broke My Own Rules...

Anonymous Snuggly Sprite #484 · General Confessions

I'm in my first year at law school now, trying to figure out how to balance everything while still indulging in some of the kinkier parts of my personality. It's been a tough transition from undergrad where there were no rules or strictures... but here, I've found myself setting up these intricate power dynamics with a partner who is much more experienced and takes on the role of caregiver... it's like an escape for me when everything else feels overwhelming. I’ve set up all these guidelines, really detailed stuff about following orders, respecting boundaries, even little things like reporting back to him if I've been naughty or not followed through with some tasks. The thing is, he trusts me completely and isn't always around to monitor... so there are moments where it's just me and the rules. One of my bigger rule-breakings happened recently when I was supposed to be finishing a research paper, something crucial for getting into some important classes next semester. But instead, I got distracted and went down this rabbit hole on Reddit for hours... It wasn't anything bad or illegal... but it definitely put me behind schedule. So here’s the thing: when he found out, through one of my regular check-ins where I’m supposed to be honest about everything, there was this mix of guilt, shame, and just feeling like a failure in this dynamic. Because breaking those rules means something... it's not just about the task at hand but also about trust, respect, self-discipline. I feel like I'm supposed to figure out these things on my own somehow... but there are moments where everything feels so heavy and uncertain that even these adult playtime scenarios can seem overwhelming. It’s a weird space between wanting to grow up and still finding comfort in playing the little one or following strict rules... So yeah, just another day trying to navigate adulthood while indulging my more playful sides... wondering if it's all worth it.
