Lonely Games in the Library

Anonymous Snuggly Kitten #544 · General Confessions

I'm a grad student who spends most of my days buried in research at our university library. It's quiet there, sometimes almost too much so. I've found myself drawn to an old corner desk that no one seems to use. There’s something about it, a sense of isolation and mystery, that draws me like a moth to the flame. A few weeks ago, on what seemed like another ordinary day of digging through dusty archives, I decided to take a chance. I packed up some unusual props from home and snuck them into my bag before heading to the library. Once settled at my usual desk, I set up my secret world away from prying eyes. I let myself slip into a role that’s nothing like who I am in real life, a sort of playful, dependent character with a domineering side that watches over me. It's all just pretend, but it helps fill the void inside. I’m not sure what others would think if they knew, but here in my little corner of the library, no one ever does. It’s a strange way to find comfort and excitement during these lonely stretches when everything feels like too much.
