Taking Care of My Little One
Anonymous Blushing Star #383 · General Confessions
I've been the Daddy in my long-term relationship for as long as I can remember. It's not just a role, it's who I am and how I express love, through guidance, care, and sometimes discipline too. My partner loves this dynamic; it’s her safe space to be vulnerable, playful, and grow into the best version of herself. Today was one of those days where she needed me more than ever, something happened at work that left her feeling small and unsure. We retreated home, and I spent hours making sure she felt seen, heard, and cared for. There's a part of her that loves being looked after like this, to feel protected and nurtured in ways only I can provide. It’s a dance we’ve perfected over the years, giving what each other needs when it matters most. But here's the thing: while our arrangement has been overwhelmingly positive and fulfilling for both of us, sometimes even as I embrace my role wholeheartedly, there are moments where I question if maybe she craves this level of care because there’s a void in her life that only I seem to fill. It makes me wonder about what comes next when it feels like our relationship has such a defined structure and purpose. So, I’m reaching out for advice, is it normal to feel this way? What have others experienced in similar roles?
