Forgot My Coloring Book Rules
Anonymous Starry Petal #192 · General Confessions
So here's a thing. I’m this big ol' artist type, you know? Spend half my life in galleries and the other half with crayons and paint splattered all over me. But yeah, when it comes to kink stuff, just generally kinky as hell. No one dynamic really takes hold or anything. Just like... a wide-open space for exploring different roles and boundaries, y'know? Anyway, last week I had this little rule thing going on in my personal headspace. You see, when I'm coloring, which is, admittedly, not an adult activity but something I do to relax, yeah, I have this set of rules. Like, no jumping ahead or skipping pages, gotta stay focused and work through the whole book from start to finish. A kind of meditative thing for me. Well, long story short, I was having a rough day and decided to binge-watch old movies instead. Not exactly what my inner rule-keeper wanted, but hey, we all need those breaks now and again. So there I am, watching these flicks back-to-back, when I suddenly remembered about halfway through that I hadn't colored in ages. I felt this weird pang of guilt because, yeah, it was just a coloring book, and I know deep down there's no real consequence for breaking my own personal rule. But it made me think about other times where I've broken rules, even silly ones. Like when I skip a chore or eat that last cookie I wasn't supposed to. It’s funny how the mind works like this, one small lapse turns into a whole spiral of what-if scenarios and guilty introspection. So there you have it, folks. One artist's personal rule slip-up about coloring books leading to a heady swirl of thoughts on guilt, kink dynamics, and the weird ways our minds process these things as adults. No biggie in the grand scheme of life, but kinda funny to reflect upon.
