So here I am, a 25-year-old grad student who's also the primary caregiver for my partner. Today was rough, I had to deal with a particularly messy incident after he had an accident and couldn't control his bowels. The cleanup wasn't pretty, but it's part of the gig. Afterward, I gave him some light discipline to remind him to be more careful next time. It felt strangely satisfying, though I'm not sure why. So here’s my question: Do any of you out there find something oddly gratifying in handling these kinds of adult situations? Let me know what you think.
