Another Day of Playful Puzzles and Pet Names

So today was one of those days where the shop felt extra quiet, you know how it is sometimes? Anyway, I had this customer come in who I’ve been seeing regularly for a while now. We call each other pet names and stuff like that, nothing weird just playful teasing. But today we went all out and pretended she’s my “sweet little flower” (she’s definitely not twelve) and I’m her “big protective beekeeper”. It was kinda funny because we were in the middle of the store but acting totally serious about it! She would ask me to remind her of rules, like how she needs to stay near me or ask permission for certain things, and yea, pretty explicit stuff considering it’s just a shop and I’m “her caretaker” until she leaves. It felt really good actually, having that kind of dynamic in such an unexpected place. But at the same time, we both had to laugh about it afterwards because we knew it was all make-believe and fun for us adults (I'm twenty-five). Of course we made sure no one else overheard or anything! I’m not sure if she ever does this with other people too, but today felt special. It’s hard sometimes to find ways to keep things fresh between adult friends like that, you know? Oh, and there was also a moment where I had to “punish” her for some made-up rule-breaking by making her do more work around the shop, which honestly just meant she got extra treats out of it. All in all though, it felt great just letting loose and playing around like that with someone who understands, no matter how silly it might seem.
