The Retail Worker's Secret Playtime Confession
Anonymous Whispering Moth #561 · General Confessions
I've been working in retail for about five years now. The job is pretty hectic and often drains me both mentally and physically. Despite this, I always make sure to maintain a professional demeanor and stick to the rules, or so it seems from the outside looking in. What my colleagues might not know is that when I go home, things are completely different. About a year ago, I started engaging with a small but tight-knit online community dedicated to DDLG relationships and age-play scenarios. Initially, I was just an observer, fascinated by these dynamics but also skeptical about how it would fit into my life as an adult. Eventually, though, the curiosity got the better of me. I began to explore the idea of playing both roles: sometimes embracing the little girl persona, other times stepping into a caregiver role for someone else's character or even creating one myself for self-guided play sessions. Initially, this was all theoretical and played out in my headspace, but eventually I started engaging with others online in safe environments. The switch between these personas can feel like night and day. At work, I'm focused, serious, and responsible, a far cry from the whimsical side that often comes to life when playing online or engaging in self-guided sessions at home. I've never let any of this spill into my professional or social life outside of the carefully constructed play spaces. Recently, however, things have become more complicated. I started dating someone who's quite supportive and understanding about my interests, as long as they stay confined to the realm of imagination and online play. The problem is that I'm starting to find myself wanting a deeper connection within these play dynamics. My curiosity has grown into something that I'm not sure how to reconcile with real-life relationships. I feel like an oddity, but also strangely liberated by having this outlet for my adult fantasies. At the same time, there's a nagging fear of being judged or misunderstood if these elements were ever exposed in other aspects of my life. That's why I remain anonymous here, to confess and reflect on what it means to embrace something so deeply personal while maintaining a normal professional persona.
