feeling guilty about a small thing

so i work nights at this nursing home and there's this one patient who's like my responsibility during the night shift. she's really sweet but sometimes stubborn when it comes to her routine. last week, we were having some real weird weather so i told her we needed to move her bed closer to the heater because she gets cold easily. she didn't want to though and said no way jose. i tried reasoning with her and everything but in the end, i just did it while she was asleep without asking again. kinda felt like i shouldn't have done that, taking charge without getting explicit permission first even if i thought it was for her own good. now i'm wondering am i totally out of line or is this my job as a caregiver to make decisions when they're in the best interest of the patient? been feeling pretty guilty over this ever since, not sure what's right here.
