A Late-Night Snack Mishap

I work nights at a local factory, and it's been such a long shift that by the time I reach my locker area to grab my bag, all I can think about is getting home for some sleep. But there’s always temptation waiting, my co-worker left a chocolate bar in our break room. Normally, we have strict rules about leaving snacks out because another night-shift worker needs severe allergies monitored closely. Tonight was different though; tonight exhaustion took over reason and the chocolate seemed like an angel sent to ease my stress. I glanced around nervously but didn't see anyone watching me, so with a quick, guilty glance at the door, I snatched it up. As I walked back towards my locker area munching on the candy bar, guilt washed over me like a cold shower. I should have known better than to break that rule. What if someone found out? Would it ruin our safe working environment for those with allergies? The fear of getting caught is still weighing heavily on my mind hours later.
