it was just one night but it feels like years

so my husband is gone for training and i was visiting friends when this guy at the bar catches my eye. he's all rugged and his hands look like they’ve held some tools, nothing fancy or polished like military guys, more blue collar with calloused fingers and rough skin. i mean obviously it’s just a casual glance but you know how that is right? one look turns into another and before long we’re chatting about motorcycles and beer and all of sudden the vibe changes. he's got this way of talking where he doesn't make eye contact, kind of like looking down at his drink but always checking my reactions. it’s intense in a quiet way that makes me feel seen without him ever having to say anything bold or crass. we move away from everyone else and start playing this weird game where i have to do what he says and then after a bit i start giving commands too, like asking if i can put his beer down or touch his arm in some ways. it’s wild because we go back to my place later that night (we're both fully clothed) and it feels kinda weird, like being kids again but you know, as adults. there's this moment when he says something playful about me not being able to stay quiet or still for long enough to be a good little girl... i laugh but kind of freeze at the same time because it’s such a contrast to how i usually am with other guys. i mean yeah we end up fooling around and everything feels fine but afterwards he texts that he has work in the morning and can't do anything about seeing me again, which is fair enough since we're just strangers right? but then all this guilt hits cause it was just so fun and different from my norm... like i'm not the type to mess around while my husband is away on duty but one night didn't mean anything did it?
