caregiver conundrum

hey so i kinda got into a weird situation last week. my roommate and i are like really close but she’s been struggling with some stuff lately. one night we were talking late, drinking, and she asked if i would be her caregiver for the weekend. at first it was just holding hands in public like we’re dating which felt super cute. then things got more playful like me dressing up as a nurse or her acting younger but totally consensual adult roleplay. last night though, i found myself kinda taking on this protective caregiving role that made us both feel safe and happy. not sure if it’s just the weekend thing or if we should talk about this more seriously. anyone been in something similar? is it normal to switch up roles like this with someone you’re close to?
