I Tried Something New After The Divorce

Anonymous Dreamy Plum #496 · General Confessions

After my divorce last year, I felt lost and confused. My marriage had been everything to me for over a decade, but the love faded into resentment long ago. I found myself lonely and craving connection in ways that scared me. One night, after weeks of anonymous chats online with another divorcée who understood the pain of starting over alone, we agreed to meet up as an experiment. She seemed so confident and comfortable exploring kinks she'd hinted at through our texts - dominant/submissive play, role-playing, etc. I arrived early, my heart racing in anticipation and dread. When she greeted me with a smile that said 'let's do this', I swallowed hard and followed her into the bedroom. The dynamic was so different from anything else in my life before - strict orders, no questions asked. It felt both thrilling and wrong somehow. My hands trembled as I undressed, suddenly feeling exposed not just physically but emotionally too. She initiated a role where I played an obedient little one, learning lessons and facing consequences for mistakes. She tied me up gently to ensure my cooperation before teaching me new skills - tying bows, using polite language, etc. - and disciplining me playfully with a paddle if I messed up badly enough. It was surprisingly intimate in ways that scared me because it brought out feelings of vulnerability and submission I didn't know I had. Afterward, we sat quietly, neither speaking of what had happened until she broke the silence gently, asking how I felt about us exploring this together more often. My mind flashed back to my marriage's last years - cold silences and bitter arguments over meaningless small stuff. This felt so different in contrast, raw and honest but also with a clear safe boundary we both respected. Yet admitting even to myself that maybe this new dynamic excited me terrified me deeply too. I left her place feeling dizzy, the night replaying like a blur in my head as I drove back home alone. A part of me wanted more of it - the intense connection and release from the mundane monotony of my usual life. But another part cringed at how little control I felt over myself during that experience. I can barely bring myself to write this down now, let alone share it with anyone directly involved. I'm just trying to process all of this without judgement right now. If anything, I hope by sharing maybe someone else out there feels less isolated in their own explorations and doubts.
