Bartending Blunder

Anonymous Bratty Bunny #380 · General Confessions

I admit to a small slip-up at work recently that has me feeling rather guilty. I was supposed to lock up all the expensive spirits behind the main bar when I finished serving for the night, per the owner’s strict rules. But there was an open bottle of something really fine sitting out on my station, a single malt that we keep for special customers, and well, it called to me. The temptation was too great. So instead of locking everything up as instructed, I poured myself a small measure and savored it before putting the rest away securely behind lock and key. Now I’m left with this gnawing sense of unease and fear that my little indiscretion will somehow come back to haunt me in some major way at work. I don’t play by the rules often but when I do, it’s a real transgression.
