Caught Red-Handed with the Wrong Book
Anonymous Cherry Star #273 · General Confessions
I remember that morning vividly, sitting on the couch with a steaming cup of coffee and a book I shouldn't have been reading. My little one was still napping upstairs, and I thought it would be okay for me to enjoy some adult time in peace. But then she woke up earlier than expected and caught me red-handed. It was all playful, mind you. She walked into the living room with her hair tousled from sleep and that adorable pout of hers when she's just woken up cranky. 'What are you reading there?' she asked, sauntering over to my side. I tried to brush it off, saying something like, 'Oh, just a boring business report,' but she wasn't buying it. She took the book and flipped through it before her eyes widened in surprise. 'Daddy!' she exclaimed, her voice a mix of shock and amusement. We both laughed it off, but there was an undercurrent of excitement between us that day. After that, I realized we needed to be more careful about our DDLG moments when the kids could walk in at any second. But those little unexpected discoveries just add another layer of fun to our dynamic.
