Late Night Snack Mishap

I'm the kind of person who's always told myself I'll never break rules at work, especially not when it comes to sneaking snacks. But last night, I couldn't resist the temptation. The shift was so long and quiet, and there was this leftover sandwich that looked so appealing in the fridge. It was against company policy to eat anything from the kitchen unless you bring your own food or buy something from the cafeteria during your break. Yet, there I was, at midnight, indulging in a forbidden bite while everyone else was asleep. The guilt washed over me immediately after, what if someone caught me? What would they think of my professionalism? But then again, it was just one little sandwich. Now every time I have to go near that fridge during work hours, I feel this knot twist in my stomach. It's not about the food now, but about breaking a trust with myself and feeling like maybe I've let everyone down.
