The Caregiver's Oversight

I've been a personal trainer and a switch in my little-space dynamic for years now. My partner and I have an arrangement where we respect each other’s roles during our playtime, but there are always some rules that need to be followed on both sides. For instance, when I’m playing the role of his little girl, he sets boundaries and rules for me to adhere to. The dynamic is very adult-oriented and consensual, nothing that reflects anything from my childhood or before adulthood started. Recently, we were in a particularly active period with our playtime. We have an agreement that when I’m playing the role of his little, I am not allowed to leave the house without his permission or to go out alone at all. It’s part of building trust and boundaries, but also it’s about me being fully present in the role. A few days ago, there was a moment where something popped up unexpectedly on my phone regarding an errand that needed immediate attention. I knew it could wait until after our playtime ended, but in that moment, I made a decision to go out without telling him. It felt wrong right away; deep down, I knew I had broken one of the rules we set for ourselves. When I got back, he seemed concerned about my sudden departure and asked where I was. At first, I hesitated but then decided honesty was best. I explained why I left without permission and told him it was a mistake. He acknowledged that while what happened wasn’t ideal, it also highlighted an area we needed to discuss more thoroughly regarding communication. Reflecting on this event made me realize how important it is in our dynamic to respect the rules we set for ourselves. Even if something seems like a small infraction, breaking trust, no matter the reason, is never okay. It’s crucial that we both stay committed and honest with each other.
