The Chocolate Snitch Incident

Anonymous Sugar Bean #135 · General Confessions

So there I was at work, in my scrubs, all professional and stuff, when suddenly the vending machine downstairs caught my eye. It wasn't because I needed anything medical or practical; it was purely for the temptation of chocolate-covered almonds. I know the rules, no snacking during shifts unless it's a patient-related emergency. But let’s face it, emergencies happen more often in candy form than you might think. So I slipped away to the vending machine, and let me tell ya, those crunchy almonds with a touch of sweetness were worth every guilty nibble. Back at work, I had this nagging feeling that everyone could smell my little indulgence from across the room. And there’s nothing quite like pretending your breath isn’t betraying you when someone asks if everything's okay. Guess it was just another day in the life where a simple craving turned into an internal disciplinary case. Maybe next time I'll stick to coffee and hope for the best.
