My Dark Secret from the Past Nightclub

I feel so ashamed to even write this down. It’s been years since it happened but I still can’t shake off that feeling of utter despair and vulnerability. You see, back when I was in my early twenties, before life got me on a more stable path, there was this little part of myself that loved being submissive, not just sexually, but as an all-encompassing way to express and explore parts of my identity. I used to frequent a dark corner club downtown. Not the one with flashing lights and thumping music, but the quieter, dimly lit establishment where people could hide their secrets away in shadows and whispers. That’s where I met him, let’s call him D for now; we never exchanged names back then. D was ten years older than me, a seasoned player who had everything figured out. He knew how to make someone feel like the most insignificant thing in his world while making them believe they were the center of it all. I was drawn to that intensity, that darkness. One night, he invited me back to his place, and from there, what started as play turned into something darker. We ended up at his loft apartment. He had this way of talking down to me in such a demeaning manner, calling me 'his little' and treating me like some sort of object that could be controlled. I know it sounds strange, but there was something about feeling so completely out of control yet still wanting more that hooked me deeply. The physical aspect was intense; D had this way of making everything feel raw and primal. There were moments where the pleasure was overwhelming, mixed with fear and helplessness, all tangled up together in a messy ball of sensation. I couldn’t look away from him, even as he stripped away every ounce of my confidence. What really scares me now is how easily I could slip into that persona again if faced with it today. That’s why I’m confessing here; to remind myself that no matter what age or stage in life, those dynamics can be destructive and manipulative unless they're truly consensual and clearly defined. And even then... sometimes, the allure of submission is too strong for its own good. I hope writing this helps someone else who might find themselves in a similar situation. It’s okay to feel shame, but it's also important to recognize when certain dynamics cross lines you never meant them to.
