Our College Age-Play Mystery

I’m really struggling with something that happened last night. I’ve been a caregiver to someone in their early twenties for over half a year now, helping them navigate college life and grow more independent. We don’t use labels like 'Daddy' or 'Mommy,' just calling each other by our given names, it feels weird to me otherwise. But last night, after we had dinner at my place, things got... interesting. We started playing a game I jokingly call “baby college,” where they act younger and more vulnerable while I help them with everything from homework assignments to emotional issues. It was supposed to be just for fun, but when it went further than expected, there was something so real about it, almost like an actual power dynamic emerged in that moment. I can't shake the feeling of being unsure if this is crossing a line somewhere. I know we're both adults here, and nothing happens without consent, but still... does this kind of role-play ever turn into more than just a game? I’m looking for some insight, am I overthinking it or should we maybe tone things down?
