My Vulnerable Moment as a Daddy Artist
Anonymous Fuzzy Bunny #424 · General Confessions
I'm an artist in my thirties who also takes care of a little one I play with. We do it all consensually, and she's never felt like a kid to me until now. Last night was different, though, we were playing in the studio where I paint, and something just snapped inside me. She looked up at me with such wide, innocent eyes as I sat there holding my brush, and suddenly everything hit me hard. The weight of being responsible for her happiness, the intensity of the role I play every day... It felt like too much all at once. I couldn't paint anything after that moment; my mind was filled with worry about whether I'm doing right by her. Is it okay to feel this way? Am I projecting something unhealthy onto our arrangement because I’ve had a hard week? She's always been so confident in the dynamic, but now I’m not sure if she’s really comfortable or if she just likes that feeling of being taken care of. I need advice from others who understand, am I overthinking this or is there real concern here? Maybe I should talk it out with her more openly about what we both feel? We're both adults, but sometimes the emotional intensity feels too much to handle on my own.
