Night Shift Secrets

Anonymous Midnight Bean #247 · General Confessions

Working nights has its perks and downsides, but one thing I never expected was this. Last week, I came into work after my late shift, exhausted but needing a quiet place to unwind before bed. The office was empty except for one person, my sub, who's been part of my life for months now. We have an understanding that the space is neutral ground and anything can happen there as long as we're both comfortable with it. I found her waiting for me in the break room, looking up at me with those big eyes, asking if I wanted to explore something new together tonight. She’s always eager and willing, but usually she respects my need for boundaries too. That night, though, there was an undercurrent of something else, a challenge, maybe? It's embarrassing to admit this now, even just in my head. We ended up spending hours there after everyone left, pushing some limits that I thought were pretty clear before then. By the end, we were both so worn out and unsure what had really happened or if it was okay. I haven’t brought it up since. Maybe she’s avoiding me because of it too. This feels like something a kid would do after sneaking around with their toys past bedtime, scared to face the morning knowing they might get in trouble.
