Alone at Home

Anonymous Playful Kitten #299 · General Confessions

I work from home as a freelancer and often feel incredibly lonely despite having my phone for company. The days can drag on with just me here, and sometimes it feels like I'm missing out on everything that's happening around me. One day, I decided to try something new. I put on an old dress my friend had left behind from her childhood collection, not because I wanted to feel young again, but because it felt comforting in a way that brought back feelings of being cared for and protected. As I worked through the afternoon, I found myself slipping into a role where I was this little girl who needed someone to take care of me, even if only in my mind. It made the loneliness bearable. Did anyone else ever try dressing up or acting younger to cope with feeling alone? How did it help you?
