A Day at the Park

I took care of my partner's daughter today. We went to the park and it was mostly fun, but then she did something that needed a bit of discipline. She climbed on the jungle gym with her shoes off and I had to remind her about safety rules. So I made her sit for a few minutes, holding her hand until she understood. It felt silly, like I was playing an adult version of 'time-out,' but it worked. She ended up having a better time afterward because we stuck to the rules.
