Small Mistakes and Guilt

Anonymous Whispering Star #652 · General Confessions

So I've been in this dynamic for a while now with my caregiver. We mostly do it through texts and calls these days, but there's still a fair amount of face-to-face when we can manage it. It's actually really nice to have someone looking out for me like that. Keeps me grounded and on track. But here's the thing: last week I was in this really cute little bakery down the street from work. And you know how they always have those sample trays at the front? Chocolate chip cookies, macarons, all sorts of stuff. Well, I didn't want to go home empty-handed after a long day, but there wasn't anything on my list that caught my eye. I had this tiny thought about just eating one of those samples, just one little cookie, no one would notice. But then I saw the sign next to them saying 'Do Not Eat Samples'. I knew it was against our deal not to do something like this without permission first. So instead, I grabbed a plain old baguette and headed out. But man, did that little piece of chocolate chip cookie linger in my mind. It’s been driving me crazy ever since because even though it wasn't about sex or anything kink-related at all, breaking a rule feels like a betrayal somehow. And now I keep wondering if maybe I should've just told her beforehand and asked for permission to try one. Maybe I'll call her up later tonight and confess. Or...maybe not. Sometimes it's better to let things lie when there’s no real harm done, right? But the nagging guilt doesn't feel like it's going away anytime soon.
