Ashamed Tonight

I’m a night-shift worker, usually responsible and serious about my role as Mommy. But tonight was different. We were in the middle of a shift when I felt an overwhelming urge to discipline him for something silly but frustrating, like a little kid who didn’t tie their shoes right or forgot to brush their teeth. It’s embarrassing because we’re both adults, but it felt so natural to scold and set consequences. He just laughed nervously, not sure what was going on. Afterward, I felt awful, wondering if this is normal for others in DDLG scenes? Is there something wrong with finding these little power dynamics comforting?
