The Cookie Incident
Anonymous Peachy Peach #295 · General Confessions
I've been in a DD/lg relationship with my partner for five years now. We started when I was 25 and he was just out of college at 23, but it's always felt like a natural extension of our personalities rather than something we had to 'grow into'. He takes his role seriously, sometimes too much so in my opinion, and while most times this dynamic is mutually beneficial and fulfilling, there have been moments where the structure feels suffocating. Today was one such day. The incident itself is mundane: I found a box of cookies in our kitchen cupboard that he had specifically told me were off-limits until his birthday next week. He left them there while traveling for work and mentioned them when he called last night to remind me not to eat anything out of the treat jar. But, as the day went on and I was home alone with a craving for something sweet, the cookies beckoned. I don't know if it's rebellion or just plain hunger that got to me. Regardless, after about half an hour of deliberating, I caved and ate two. The satisfaction was brief, followed by intense guilt and worry that my action would somehow hurt our dynamic or break his trust. We've had a solid history of adhering closely to the rules we set for ourselves, so when those guidelines aren't followed, it's not just an act of defiance but a perceived threat to our foundation. To complicate matters further, these weren't just any cookies; they were his favorite and part of a special order he had placed weeks in advance. I knew eating them was crossing a line, even if the line itself wasn't explicitly 'forbidden' in our DD framework but rather an extension of it, something we both agreed to respect. Now, I'm left grappling with whether this small act is going to cause more harm than good. Am I justified in feeling guilty over one simple indulgence? Or am I just a slave to the rules and my partner's expectations at every turn? These are questions without easy answers, but they highlight how even tiny choices can ripple through something as intricate and nuanced as a DD/lg relationship.
