A Secret from the Studio

Anonymous Naughty Sprite #684 · General Confessions

I've been keeping this secret for so long, it feels like a weight on my shoulders. I'm an artist, and you know how we keep our inspirations close to us. But one day, everything changed. While working on a painting in my studio, it just hit me, there was something missing. Something that would make the piece come alive. And then... well, let's just say I wasn't alone anymore. This person, this other artist who visited occasionally, turned into more than just a friend or a critic. We started to experiment with different roles, and sometimes it felt so natural, like we were meant for each other in ways that went beyond art. But then again, those times also scared me. I'm not sure if it's the intensity, or the fear of being seen differently by my peers. Sometimes, when we're together, it feels like time stops and everything around us fades away. Other days though, all I see are red flags. How do you maintain a relationship that isn't about just sharing your passions? It's hard to talk about because even I don't fully understand what this means for me. It's funny how much one person can change the way you perceive yourself and your desires. But now, every time I walk into my studio alone, I can almost feel them there with me, that tension, that connection, but also the guilt of playing pretend in a space where I'm supposed to be real. I don't know what's next or how much longer I can keep this hidden. Maybe writing it out helps at least a little bit.
