Little Space Mishap During Lecture

So there I was, mid-lecture in my classroom. Now, before anyone jumps to conclusions, let me clarify that the college kids in my class were none the wiser. It's not like a professor suddenly becomes a little for her students. But this particular day, I decided to take a quick mental break and slip into my little space for a few minutes during one of those interminable breaks between topics. Yes, it happens, and no, you don't get to see the real me - only the carefully curated persona that I present in class. It's funny how your mind can do this sort of thing when you're teaching such dense material all day. So there I was, just enjoying my little moment, when who should walk into the room but a visiting professor from another department? Now, the guy had seen me as an adult before and knew about my little space habits, so he wasn't exactly shocked. But it was still awkward. He tried to make small talk while trying not to stare at the sudden appearance of this very young-looking woman in front of him who was just moments ago teaching a room full of students. After that, I made sure to take my breaks outside or somewhere private and secluded. It's one thing to have a kink; it's another to impose on someone else's day unexpectedly. Plus, the embarrassment is real - you don't want to be the professor who turns into a little girl in front of your colleagues. But hey, live and learn. So yeah, that was my little space mishap. I'm not going to make the same mistake twice, at least not while on duty. Maybe next time I'll find a better place for my breaks - somewhere that won't cause confusion or distress for anyone around me.
