The Secret I Keep Alone

Taking care of my kids day and night, it's been so long since I felt like a real person. They're great, but sometimes the isolation gets to me. Last week, I finally broke down and found someone online who listened, not judging, just understanding. We talked for hours, sharing fantasies neither of us would ever act on. It was comforting, knowing I wasn't alone in my thoughts about stepping away from my role as 'Mommy' for a little while. Just talking helped, but the loneliness crept back soon after. Maybe that's enough sometimes - just being heard.
