First Time Feeling Like a Kid Again

So, I recently started experimenting with age-play, and it was wild. My partner and I tried out being in our 20s but acting like we were just starting to figure everything out, kind of like fresh college students or something. It felt really playful and fun! But here's the thing: afterward, I had this strange feeling like maybe it wasn't just a game. Like there was some real regression happening, even if I'm still fully in control as an adult. Does anyone else ever feel that way? Is it normal to have such a vivid connection when you're role-playing something so different from your current life?
