My Secret Little Space After Work

Anonymous Shy Petal #696 · General Confessions

So I've got this interesting little thing going on that might be a bit odd to some. I'm 27 and a software engineer at a startup in the city, so pretty much your standard tech worker until you learn about my after-work hobby. At my core, I feel like a lot of people think of as an adult, responsibilities, bills, grown-up things, but there's this part of me that still loves playing pretend sometimes, and recently it's become something more substantial than just daydreaming. A couple months ago, I started talking to this girl online who also enjoyed DDLG stuff. We hit it off really well, both about the same age and just looking for fun, non-committal play when we're free. As the chats went on, it naturally led us into playing out these fantasies together, her as a playful, flirty little, me more serious but still enjoying myself. No big deal right? But here's where things got a bit strange, at least for me: I started to look forward to this after work space, where we'd put on our respective roles in our little messages and calls. It wasn't just the kink or fantasy aspect anymore, but there was something about switching into that mindset, maybe it made me feel more playful, less stressed from my real life? Like getting a chance to be the version of myself who enjoys these silly things again without the adult pressure weighing down. We've had some pretty intense conversations where we push boundaries and have fun playing out scenarios, she loves surprising me with notes around the house when I'm working late, little drawings or cards that make me smile. And sometimes, I surprise her too, just to keep it lively. I'm not sure how I feel about this confession thing now, but mostly it's just a reminder that even in our grown-up world where life feels serious, there can still be a place for pretending and letting yourself enjoy the oddities of your own interests. No one needs to know everything you do, as long as everyone involved is consenting adults having fun, isn't that what really matters?
