Breaking A Small Rule But Feeling The Weight Of It
Anonymous Bratty Star #488 · General Confessions
I've been struggling with this for a while now. I'm in my early twenties and just recently figured out that I have a thing for Dominant-Submissive dynamics, but only within the context of an intimate relationship where it's consensual and clear. This whole DDLG thing is still so new to me though, I haven't shared it with anyone else yet. The other day in my dorm room, I was supposed to be studying for a midterm when my roommate asked me to do some chores around the house, like cleaning the kitchen. But I just couldn't concentrate or be bothered - something about feeling rebellious and wanting to defy authority figures at that moment. So instead of doing the dishes, I hid out in my room and watched Netflix until she went to bed. Now I'm having a hard time with this because usually when I do something wrong (like missing a deadline for class), there's always a part of me that feels bad about it - like an internal sense of discipline urging me to make up for the mistake. But in this case, my heart didn't feel heavy or guilty right away at all, just this lingering feeling of defiance and satisfaction from not listening to her. The next morning when she asked how I did with the dishes, I fibbed and said I had already done them earlier in a rush. Which is pretty unlike me - I'm usually really conscientious about honesty. So that's the source of my confession here. It seems like such a small thing on the surface (not doing chores) but it hit something deeper for me related to this DDLG stuff that I'm still trying to sort out and make sense of within myself, as someone who takes their ethics pretty seriously otherwise.
