A Small Transgression

I was supposed to grade papers today but instead found myself wandering the campus bookstore. I picked up a novel I'd been wanting, a real indulgence, and couldn't resist buying it despite knowing better. As I left, guilt washed over me... what kind of professor am I? This isn't who I should be... but sometimes these little lapses feel like a breath of fresh air in my otherwise predictable life. I'll return the book tomorrow and make up for lost time at my desk tonight... .
