The Comfort In Being Little

Anonymous Shy Star #745 · Little Space

So...I'm this trans guy in my twenties who found comfort in something pretty strange, acting little as a way to escape adult stuff sometimes. It started with some cartoons and stuffed animals, kind of like finding that inner child again after years of grown-up worries. I mean, it's not like there are rules for this shit or anything. Anyway, one night, after arguing with my partner over bills, again, I just felt so...lost? So I went to my little corner, the safe place in my room filled with childish things. Took a stuffed animal and pretended like everything was okay again. Just for a bit of peace, you know? But yeah, it's weird talking about this openly. It feels bad, but also...maybe there's nothing wrong with finding ways to cope that feel right? I'm not sure if anyone else does this or even knows what I’m talking about. It’s just hard admitting how much comfort and joy can come from a simple act of playfulness. Guess it’s okay if it helps, right?
