Caught Snacking When I Wasn't Supposed To

Anonymous Dreamy Bunny #491 · General Confessions

It’s been a while since I’ve felt this way, like everything is speeding up and slowing down at the same time. The clock ticks, but in my head, it feels like hours have passed in seconds. You see, last week was one of those days where nothing went right for me. It started early when I overslept due to a nightmare. By the time I got up, breakfast was cold and my morning routine felt rushed. To add to that, I had a meeting with my mentor at 10 AM sharp, something I always take seriously because it’s part of this DDLG dynamic where I’m supposed to show respect and follow rules closely. But that morning, everything seemed off, my head was foggy, my stomach growling from lack of food. Normally, I’d be the first one up, but missing breakfast had thrown me out of sync with my own body’s rhythms. So, while I should have been at my best for our meeting, I felt like a zombie wandering around aimlessly. It was then that I found myself standing in front of the kitchen counter, where there lay some leftover cookies from last night's dessert. The temptation was strong, I knew how much I was supposed to be disciplined and avoid sugary treats unless given permission by my mentor. But something about those chocolate chip cookies just drew me in; they were a stark contrast to all the other stresses of the day. I hesitated for what felt like an eternity, then finally took one bite out of a cookie. It was as if time stopped, I could feel every crumb and taste the sweetness on my tongue. My mind screamed at me to stop, but there’s something about breaking rules that feels so liberating and exciting, even when it’s just about food. After that first bite, everything seemed to quicken again. I ate another cookie without a second thought and before long, the entire jar was empty. The moment of reckoning came as I stared at the empty container, panic rising inside me because I knew exactly what would happen next, my mentor would be furious if he found out. It’s silly to feel so guilty over something as small as eating cookies without permission. But it's that guilt mixed with the thrill of breaking a rule that makes this confession linger in my mind days later, replaying every moment from finding those tempting treats to stuffing them down in defiance of the rules we’d set up together. I didn’t feel like myself after that, it’s strange how one small act can make you question your entire day and routine. And here I am now, weeks later, still wondering what it all means and if I’ll ever be able to look at those innocent-looking cookies without feeling the weight of that decision hanging over me.
