Fading Shadows of Control
Anonymous Velvet Duckling #389 · General Confessions
I'm a Daddy in my 30s. You know the kind I mean, the one who knows all about dominance and submission. But there's this girl, she's my little, and we've been together for years now. She's like my heart and soul, really. Lately though, things have just felt... different. It’s hard to explain but it feels like something has changed between us. We used to be so close, you know? I'd take care of her, she’d look up to me in every way, that's the dynamic we chose together. She's not a child in real life, of course; she's an adult woman with a job and friends outside of our little world. But inside it, she lets me be this protective force for her. But now... well, I don't know if she's growing up too fast or what. It feels like she doesn’t need me the same way anymore. We still do things together but there’s a distance. She used to come to me with everything and anything, even just to talk about it. Now she keeps things closer to herself. It’s not that I'm unhappy, really, we're both adults here and if she needs her space or independence more now, then that's okay too. But still... there’s this emptiness inside when I think about it. It’s like missing a part of myself. And the worst is talking to other Daddies online who talk about how great their dynamics are, all close and tight-knit with their littles. I envy them in a weird way. But then again, every relationship changes over time right? So maybe it's just me being too sentimental or nostalgic for something we can't get back to. I don’t know what the future holds for us. We talk about boundaries and roles, always trying to keep things clear. I guess the thing is, even when you're the one setting all these rules and dynamics as a Daddy, sometimes it’s still hard not feeling like you’re losing control in some sense. So yeah, that's kind of where my mind has been lately, wondering about our dynamic as it evolves or fades, unsure if I should try harder to keep things close or just let them be what they are now. I don't know if anyone else can relate but writing this down helps me feel like maybe someone somewhere understands.
