In the Headlights of Little Space

Anonymous Fuzzy Bunny #515 · Little Space

I'm in my 50s now, married for thirty years. We've tried everything under the sun together but never settled into something that stuck as a long-term thing beyond vanilla sex and light roughhousing. Recently, I found myself slipping into this headspace during our lovemaking, feeling like a small child being taken care of by someone much larger than me. It started with gentle words, soft touches... and then it was all-consuming. My partner isn't sure what to make of it. We've had some conversations but haven't made any decisions yet about if this is something we want to explore further in our relationship. On the one hand, I enjoy the feeling of being protected and cared for; on the other hand, part of me worries that this might be a regression or avoidance of adult responsibilities. What are your thoughts? Is it normal for people my age to experience this kind of headspace during sex? I keep telling myself not to overthink it, but... is there something I'm missing here?
