A Heart Yearning for Guidance

Anonymous Sugar Bean #716 · General Confessions

I've been taking care of Alex since he was a young adult dealing with some rough patches. We're not strictly in a DDLG relationship, but I act as his primary support and guide. Lately, though, I find myself slipping into nurturing him like a child sometimes. He looks to me for everything from mundane tasks to emotional advice, which feels incredibly fulfilling but also overwhelming at times. There's this unspoken longing on both our parts, mine to be the rock he needs and his to feel safe in my arms. It's been wonderful seeing Alex grow and flourish under my care, but I worry about boundaries blurring too much. I don't want to cross any lines or take away his independence as he moves towards adulthood. Am I being a good caregiver? Is it normal to feel this way, or am I overstepping? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
