A Day's Discipline

Today was one of those days when my little didn't listen and I ended up spanking him until he cried. It felt like such a betrayal to myself - the strict Mommy I strive to be versus the caring one who loves her child unconditionally. Afterward, we talked through it, but I still feel this weird mix of guilt and satisfaction that's hard to explain. Sometimes, being in control feels necessary for his growth, even if it means facing my own internal conflict.
