Doctor's Dilemma

Anonymous Giggly Star #475 · General Confessions

So yeah, I'm this doctor who deals with all sorts of crazy stuff in the ER. But there was this one patient who came in looking like she'd been through a hurricane, not literally, just emotionally wrecked. We ended up talking more than usual, and it turned out she needed something beyond the usual medical care. She started calling me her 'caregiver' and wanted to play out these little scenarios where I was basically her therapist but also... you know, took on this role of helping her feel safe in a different way. We kept it all very abstract, nothing too explicit or graphic, just knowing glances and nods. It's funny how life can throw you curveballs like that. One day it's business as usual, the next you're navigating an unexpected dynamic with a patient-turned-partner. Now I joke about my stethoscope being used for more than just listening to hearts and lungs!
