Between Worlds

Anonymous Sparkly Marshmallow #692 · General Confessions

I'm at Camp Lejeune with my spouse this week. Last night, he took on his caregiver role, wanting to discipline me like a little one. We'd dressed up, me in childish clothes, him looking stern but loving. He scolded me for leaving socks on the floor and sent me to bed early without dessert. It felt like a breath of fresh air, a break from military life's constant demands. But as I lie here now, alone with my thoughts, it feels empty too. Just another way to escape reality.
