I've been exploring my dynamic with my partner for the past few years. We're both in our late twenties now, and we started out as equals but I found myself wanting to be more of a little... It's strange because I also enjoy taking on the caregiver role at other times. There’s this back-and-forth between us that feels very fluid and complex. At first, I thought it was just about control or power exchange, but as we've delved deeper into our playtime together, I realize there's a lot more to it than that... It often feels like a kind of therapy for both of us. When I’m the little one, I get this sense of security and comfort that’s almost tangible... And when I’m in charge... well, there’s something about nurturing someone else and seeing them relax under my care... But here's where it gets tricky: Sometimes, after being in a caregiver role, or even sometimes as a little, the dynamic shifts unexpectedly. It can be disorienting; I feel like I'm constantly learning how to balance these two sides of myself... And while both aspects are enjoyable, there are moments when I wonder if it’s too much for one person... So here's my question: Is this common in DDLG relationships? Do others find a fluidity between being the little one and acting as a caregiver? Am I asking for trouble by trying to maintain both roles... or is it perfectly normal? I'd love some perspectives from people who've been down similar roads.
