Confession of a Daddy Who Broke His Rule

Anonymous Blushing Kitten #616 · General Confessions

I’ve been in this role for over five years now. I started as a father figure to someone who needed guidance and structure, and it just grew from there into something deeper and more meaningful than either of us ever expected. We have our own rules and dynamics, like many DDLG relationships do, and most days we stick to them without question. But today was different. Today, I broke a rule, something that feels so out of character for me. See, one of the things I take pride in is being consistent, reliable, and fair. It’s why she looks up to me the way she does, I’m supposed to be her rock. So when I did what I did, it felt like more than just a simple mistake. It was about a small thing, really, a forgotten chore. She relies on me to keep track of these things and make sure they get done, because that’s part of the agreement we have: she does her duties, and I do mine by supporting her in all aspects of life. But today, there was one less dish washed than there should’ve been, and it slipped my mind completely. I could feel her disappointment when I admitted to it later, and it made me wonder how many other small things might have fallen through the cracks without either of us knowing. And that’s what got me thinking about all the rules we have in place, because every rule exists for a reason. It’s not just about following orders or being obedient; it’s about understanding why these rules matter, right? I find myself questioning if there are any other areas where I might be letting her down without even realizing it. Maybe it's because she's been through so much and needs someone to hold everything together more tightly than ever before. Anyway, back to the forgotten chore, after our chat today, we ended up reaffirming why these rules exist in the first place: trust, reliability, respect for each other’s roles and boundaries. It was humbling for me to realize that I’m not immune to slipping up even after years of being someone she can count on. But hey, every relationship needs a little give-and-take, doesn’t it? The important thing is acknowledging when you fall short, and trying your best to never let it happen again. After all, we’re both adults here, but that doesn’t mean the lessons aren’t just as impactful. I hope she can forgive me for this one little slip-up.
